1. "The Science of Design" While watching this video they discussed how architecture is studied to make advancements in design and quality of each structure. Throughout the video they talked about how when a building is being designed they do tests concerning weather in order to exactly determine what can be changed about the building to make it better. In the video they also talked about how concrete was becoming such a huge part of architecture because it has so many positives when using it. Yes, while looking at Matt's Wall Art, I found his photo of sunflowers held more than just pattern. I found while looking at it that it also has, unity, line, and color. The yellow stands out so much to me and for that reason I think that color is another category that this photo fits under. 1. I thought that creating a logo that was about me was actually a lot of fun. The first thing I did was list out a few things about myself so I could find somewhere to start. After looking and thinking for a bit an Owl seemed very fitting for what I was thinking of. 2. While creating the logo I thought of different ways that not only I describe myself but how other people would describe me as well. A few traits were, quiet, aware, bright, and calm. From here I took into account things I liked as well such as bright colors and animals. So, from there I came up with the idea to use an owl because they have big bright eyes and are quiet animals. I thought that those traits were similar to the ones I came up with for myself. Then I did thinking and started drawing until I found what I liked. A) Rene Magritte La Voix des airs (The Voice of Space) Jim Isermann #0488 To start, Rene's artwork left an impression on me because after reading the description next to it, it really made me think more about the unknowable and mystery in many different ways. Jim Isermann's artwork "#0488" also impacted me because it opened my eyes to see how the canvas can be used in so many different ways. 1. I thought that creating the value scale was not too hard but definitely harder then I remembered it to be. Once I got down closer to the white end of the scale it was hard to judge just how much lighter to make the next box. I enjoyed making the color wheel a lot, it took a few tries for me to get it to look the way i had envisioned but eventually I was able to get just what I wanted. 2. I enjoyed working with the paints the most even though it took me the longer amount of time. I found that it was more enjoyable mixing the true Primary colors to create the secondary ones. 3. I believe that the most important discovery is that the true primary colors are cyan, magenta, and yellow. Not red, blue, and yellow, like we are taught at a very young age. 4. 1. Color plays a huge part in all of our lives in many different ways. For some people certain colors can be linked to certain memories or feelings that can bring them a certain emotion. Reds commonly are used to present danger but also is commonly used to represent love. A single color can have a different triggering of emotion for one person than it does for another. 2. The most intriguing theoretical fact about color is that it can play affect into sports and competitions. Hearing that Red may hold a player or competitor to an advantage was a theory I had never heard of but find to be very interesting. Though it is only a theory it makes me wonder why the mind works in that way; simply reacting based on color. 3. The study about how color affects the idea of time was one that really impacted me.
