Module 7

1.
"The Science of Design"
While watching this video they discussed how architecture is studied to make advancements in design and quality of each structure. Throughout the video they talked about how when a building is being designed they do tests concerning weather in order to exactly determine what can be changed about the building to make it better. In the video they also talked about how concrete was becoming such a huge part of architecture because it has so many positives when using it. When it comes to concrete they continue to research and study was to make it stronger.

"Architecture as Art"
In this video they talked mainly about how big of a role Frank Gary played in architecture. Frank Gary is said to have been an inventive model maker and this style for him was a huge success. Franks style stuck and transformed the way in which architecture was designed and looked at. Another point discussed in the video was how when an architect designs a building or structure they can often be put under pressure by how people react.

2.  Both videos relate to the reading in the text because they connect the advancements and visual appeal in which architecture plays in society. In both the readings and the videos they connect when talking about how architecture really is an art form and how it connects to so many principals that are used in art when designing the structure.

3. I really enjoyed the first video I watch "The Science of Design" I liked this video because I found it very interesting learning specifically about the process used to pour concrete into water for supports for a bridge. This part made me really enjoy the video because for a while I have wondered how that is done. The second video "Architecture as Art" was also interesting, I liked learning about the lath in which architecture has taken as art and learning about how Frank Gary played such a huge part in it.

4.
I picked the video "The Science of Design" because I thought that it would be interesting to learn about the process that is taken when trying to put the design to life. I also picked the video "Architecture as Art" because I wanted to learn more about the connection between the two.

Once I began taking just a couple pictures, I couldn't put my phone down and looking at things in different ways. When doing this project I allowed myself to look at the things around me with an open and free mind and photograph a lot of the everyday things around me that represent the definitions. This project was one that truly allowed me to free my mind and look at everyday things I see in a more creative and expressing way. During this project m...

Logo Project

1. I thought that creating a logo that was about me was actually a lot of fun. The first thing I did was list out a few things about myself so I could find somewhere to start. After looking and thinking for a bit an Owl seemed very fitting for what I was thinking of. 2. While creating the logo I thought of different ways that not only I describe myself but how other people would describe me as well. A few traits were, quiet, aware, bright, and calm. From here I took into account things I liked as well such as bright colors and animals. So, from there I came up with the idea to use an owl because they have big bright eyes and are quiet animals. I thought that those traits were similar to the ones I came up with for myself. Then I did thinking and started drawing until I found what I liked. Each sketch I made had a different element that I liked that I pulled together to make the final Logo 3. The most important thing I learned while creating the logo was that, each sketch may not lo...
