Module 10

The first mask I used for inspiration was chosen because I
liked how the use artist used repetition with the color of the circles.
I also like how the eyebrows contrast the base color of the mask and the curve
of them brought your eyes down the middle of the mask.

The second mask I chose was chosen because when looking at it I liked
the use of line in the beard. The maker of this mask also puts emphasis on the eyebrows and the nose. I looked to take emphasis and bring it to my mask while creating it as well.

The third mask I chose was the one that my inspiration grew the most while looking at. The mask has a lot of variety and the use of cool and warm colors contrasted which was very appealing to look at. The animal on top of the mask
really stood out to me to me as well. Also the lines down the middle of the mask brought my
eyes up and down the mask in an easy way.

In my mask I tried the use the contrast of warm and cold colors to make it appealing to look at. Also I used the purple shapes in order to bring your eyes from the sides of the mask from the bottom to the top and into the middle. The warm colors were based off of the sun I was inspired to use from the one mask I chose for inspiration. I also tried to incorporate line and pattern by repeating the stripes used on the horns of my mask.

Creating a mask was very fun, but also difficult. I was trying to incorporate different elements and principles which was kind of difficult. I enjoyed looking through the masks that were in the links of the module in order to find inspiration. I drew a couple things from each mask but the sun in the third mask i chose was where a lot of it had come from.

Once I began taking just a couple pictures, I couldn't put my phone down and looking at things in different ways. When doing this project I allowed myself to look at the things around me with an open and free mind and photograph a lot of the everyday things around me that represent the definitions. This project was one that truly allowed me to free my mind and look at everyday things I see in a more creative and expressing way. During this project m...

I chose this for inspiration because I really liked the high saturation in the picture, and thought that I would be able to replicate that effect in my own portrait. Title: Portrait of Tam Purves Artist: John Brack Date: 1958 Size: 91.5 x 122 cm Media: paint 1. This artwork was the one that influenced me the most. When I saw this one I liked the simplicity in it, along with the small detail that brings the whole thing together. I was inspired to try and create something with simple shapes while also capturing the picture as a whole. Title: "Blue Smiles" Artist: Alex Militello Media: Digital/Comput...

Logo Project

1. I thought that creating a logo that was about me was actually a lot of fun. The first thing I did was list out a few things about myself so I could find somewhere to start. After looking and thinking for a bit an Owl seemed very fitting for what I was thinking of. 2. While creating the logo I thought of different ways that not only I describe myself but how other people would describe me as well. A few traits were, quiet, aware, bright, and calm. From here I took into account things I liked as well such as bright colors and animals. So, from there I came up with the idea to use an owl because they have big bright eyes and are quiet animals. I thought that those traits were similar to the ones I came up with for myself. Then I did thinking and started drawing until I found what I liked. Each sketch I made had a different element that I liked that I pulled together to make the final Logo 3. The most important thing I learned while creating the logo was that, each sketch may not lo...
